A birder and photographer since childhood I grew up on Tyneside in northeast England in the 1970s before moving south to Hertfordshire where I endured 20 years in banking, eventually ending up in Norfolk. Tempted by my good friend János Oláh to join him on a trip to Papua New Guinea I quit my job in 2004, sold my house and went birding around the world for a year, before returning to the UK to work in the wildlife travel industry. I am very lucky that my work for Birdquest and Wild Images now takes me to some amazing places and in recent years I have been spending more and more time with camera in hand.

I only charge travelling expenses for talks and my present repertoire is: **NEW** 'Wildlife of Australia's Northern Territory'; **NEW** Ladakh in Winter: Snow Leopards, Ibisbills and more; 'Wildlife of Brazil's Pantanal'; 'Birding Colorado's High Plains & Rocky Mountains'; 'Indian Wildlife'; 'Birding in Oman'; 'Spitsbergen - A Polar Wilderness' and 'Belarus - birding behind the iron curtain'.
